Private Autism Assessment
Autism Assessment
Understanding autism in adults,
teenagers AND older CHILDREN
People seek autism assessment when long-standing patterns in communication, behaviour or daily functioning have never been clearly identified or explained, either for themselves or for a child or teenager.
In teenagers and older children, as well as adults, autistic traits may be less obvious, particularly where people have developed coping strategies over time. Without assessment, many live with ongoing uncertainty or repeated attempts to explain these patterns through other diagnoses.
A formal assessment and diagnosis can provide a clearer and more structured understanding of these patterns.
Why a full assessment matters
Comprehensive Assessment Approach
Rather than relying on brief screening tools or short consultations, the assessment is fully comprehensive, and designed to support clear diagnostic conclusions and a clear explanation of how those conclusions are reached.
Appropriate for Formal Settings
This approach is particularly important where reports need to be shared with formal organisations such as the NHS, schools, local authorities, the DWP or workplaces, and where clarity of method, documentation and diagnostic rationale is essential.
Multidisciplinary Framework & Clinical Review
Type of assessment offered
This service focuses on full autism diagnostic assessments. It is designed for people who are seeking a comprehensive autism diagnosis rather than a briefer screening or a more exploratory, therapeutic consultation.
Full assessment with Consultant Psychiatrist sign-of
Is recommended where a formal diagnostic report is needed, for example, to share with the NHS, DWP, an employer, school or local authority. An Independent Consultant Psychiatrist review, confirmation and sign-off provides the highest level of clinical recognition for the report.
Full assessment,
Assessor-confirmed report
follows the same comprehensive process and reaches the same diagnostic conclusions, but without the additional layer of independent Consultant Psychiatrist sign-off, which is included only in the full sign-off pathway for enhanced clinical assurance and formal validation.
If you are unsure which option is right for you, this can be discussed during the initial telephone consultation.
