Comprehensive autism diagnostic assessments using gold-standard ADI-R and ADOS-2 methods
Based in Bath, Private Autism Assessment provides comprehensive diagnostic assessments for adults, teenagers and children aged 11 and over, using the same established, standardised methods widely used in NHS specialist autism assessment services.
Each assessment combines a detailed 2-3 hour developmental history interview using the ADI-R with a separate, in-person ADOS-2 assessment in Bath. The findings are carefully considered together to inform a well-founded diagnostic conclusion.
We recognise the importance of continuity throughout what can be a sensitive and personal process. That’s why you’ll work with one person throughout your assessment: Suzi Morris, an experienced autism assessor and registered psychotherapist, from your very first conversation through to discussing your results and next steps.
Our assessment process is fully aligned with with NICE guidance. A follow-up appointment is included, during which we will review the findings in your report and thoughtfully consider recommended next steps together.
Assessments are normally completed within 4-5 weeks. Fees start at £1,700.

Many adults and parents seek an autism assessment after years of uncertainty, or when concerns cannot be addressed within current NHS waiting times. For some, there has been a long-standing sense of experiencing the world differently, without understanding why.
Our assessments are structured and thorough, with time to explore both developmental history and current experience, supporting clear and well-evidenced diagnostic conclusions.
An autism diagnosis and the report that accompanies it can remain significant throughout a person’s life, shaping their understanding of themselves and helping them explain their needs to others. We believe this deserves a thorough, gold-standard assessment that takes account of the whole person and their individual experiences.
As an experienced psychotherapist, Suzi takes time to understand each person’s individual experiences, difficulties and developmental history. She approaches each assessment with care, sensitivity and an open mind, bringing the different strands of evidence together carefully to reach a well-founded conclusion.
Where helpful, ongoing therapeutic support following diagnosis can also be provided through Suzi’s separate psychotherapy practice.

Location
In-person assessment sessions take place in Bath, a well-connected city in the South West, with excellent rail and road links from Bristol, London and elsewhere. Online elements are delivered by video call.
